Institutional Analytics Manager
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary analytics partner for institutional teams, providing recurring and ad hoc reporting on assets, flows, pipelines, client engagement, and business performance.
- Maintain expertise over institutional client master data, including hierarchies, attributes, identifiers, and data quality standards.
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards and reporting solutions using tools such as Power BI, SQL, and Excel.
- Translate complex business questions into structured analyses and actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Partner with relationship managers, consultant relations, operations, and sales leadership to support business strategy, client reviews, and growth initiatives.
- Collaborate with finance teams to evaluate business profitability, revenue drivers, product trends, and strategic opportunities.
- Identify data quality issues, process inefficiencies, and reporting gaps, while helping drive remediation efforts.
- Work alongside data engineering and technology teams to enhance data models, pipelines, and reporting infrastructure.
- Conduct market research, competitor analysis, and client segmentation studies to support business development and marketing initiatives.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership and key business stakeholders.
- Support enterprise data governance efforts by helping define and maintain data standards and best practices.
Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in analytics, business intelligence, or data strategy within asset management or financial services; institutional experience preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to learn complex business processes, data structures, and reporting workflows.
- Proactive, service-oriented mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, highly visible environment while collaborating across multiple teams.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Experience using data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Advanced Excel proficiency.
- Understanding of institutional asset management concepts, including client mandates, consultant relationships, platforms, and account structures.
- Experience serving as a data owner, data steward, or subject matter expert for key business datasets.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, Data Analytics, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus.
