Our client is seeking a Vice President or Director to join its Restructuring & Special Situations team. The group advises on high-profile in-court and out-of-court restructurings, liability management exercises, distressed M&A transactions, and other complex capital structure situations. This is an opportunity to play a leading role on some of the most active and sophisticated restructuring mandates in the market while working directly with senior bankers, management teams, lenders, sponsors, and legal advisors.
One of the biggest draws of this platform is deal flow. The team is consistently involved in high-profile restructuring and special situations mandates, allowing senior professionals to take ownership of transaction execution, lead client engagements, and drive strategic outcomes across a wide range of distressed and complex situations.
Responsibilities
- Lead execution of complex restructuring, liability management, recapitalization, distressed M&A, and special situations transactions
- Serve as the day-to-day quarterback on live engagements, coordinating internal deal teams and external stakeholders
- Manage transaction processes from inception through closing, ensuring high-quality execution and timely delivery
- Oversee financial modeling, valuation analyses, liquidity assessments, recovery analyses, and capital structure evaluations
- Work directly with company management teams, boards, creditor groups, sponsors, and legal advisors
- Prepare and review client presentations, transaction materials, and strategic recommendations
- Mentor and develop Associates and Analysts while overseeing work product and execution quality
- Support business development initiatives, including cultivating client relationships and contributing to marketing efforts
- Partner closely with senior leadership on strategic advisory assignments and new business opportunities
Candidate Profile
- 7+ years (VP) or 9+ years (Director) of investment banking experience
- Prior restructuring and special situations advisory experience required
- Experience leading transaction execution and managing multiple workstreams simultaneously
- Strong background advising companies, creditors, sponsors, or other stakeholders through complex restructuring situations
- Exceptional financial modeling, valuation, and analytical capabilities
- Proven ability to manage junior team members and operate effectively in lean deal teams
- Strong communication, leadership, and client management skills
- Excellent academic credentials
