HFT Trader
Overview
We are currently working with a leading global quantitative trading firm that is looking to hire an experienced HFT Quant Trader to join a well‑established market‑making team. The team operates within a highly systematic, low‑latency trading environment and is comprised of traders and quants from tier‑one proprietary and hedge fund backgrounds.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of high‑frequency strategies in a performance‑driven setting, with direct PnL responsibility and close collaboration with engineering and research teams.
Responsibilities
- Actively execute and optimise high‑frequency market‑making strategies across equities and/or futures
- Monitor positions, risk, and execution quality in real time
- Work closely with quantitative research and engineering teams to improve strategy performance, execution, and latency
- Contribute new trading ideas and enhancements that complement existing strategies
Requirements
- Proven experience trading high‑frequency or market‑making strategies at a proprietary trading firm or hedge fund
- Strong understanding of market microstructure, execution dynamics, and risk management
- Background trading equities, futures, or related liquid instruments
- Ability to operate in fast‑paced, competitive trading environments with real‑time decision‑making
- Strong quantitative intuition; programming experience (Python and/or C++) is beneficial but not essential
Preferred Background
- Experience from tier‑one proprietary trading firms or systematic hedge funds
- Track record of consistent performance in an HFT or electronic trading setting
- Comfortable working in small, highly collaborative teams
