Head of DataTransformation
The Opportunity
Selby Jennings is working with a global P&C Insurance firm in need of a executive data transformation leader to serve as the operational quarterback for one of the most significant enterprise data modernization initiatives within a large, highly regulated insurance organization. This is not a hands-on technical architecture role. Instead, you will act as the executive operator responsible for driving a complex, enterprise-wide cloud and data migration across multiple business units, overcoming organizational inertia, and ensuring business adoption at scale.
Reporting to the CTO, this role requires a unique blend of executive presence, business acumen, stakeholder management, and transformation leadership. You will partner closely with senior technology executives while working directly with leaders across underwriting, claims, operations, and other core business functions to deliver meaningful organizational change.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead execution of a large-scale enterprise cloud and data transformation initiative involving platforms such as Snowflake, AWS, Databricks, or comparable technologies.
- Drive alignment across technology, operations, and business stakeholders to accelerate migration efforts and eliminate roadblocks.
- Navigate complex organizational dynamics and influence senior leaders across a highly matrixed enterprise.
- Establish governance, accountability, and execution frameworks to ensure successful delivery of strategic transformation priorities.
- Partner with executive leadership to define migration strategy, operating models, timelines, and success metrics.
- Act as the bridge between technical delivery teams and business leaders to ensure transformation objectives translate into measurable business outcomes.
- Challenge the status quo and drive urgency in environments historically resistant to change.
- Manage competing priorities while maintaining momentum across multiple workstreams.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of leadership experience within large enterprises, consulting firms, or highly regulated industries.
- Demonstrated ownership of enterprise-scale cloud, data, or technology migration programs involving Snowflake, AWS, Databricks, Azure, or similar platforms.
- Proven success leading transformational change within insurance, financial services, banking, or similarly regulated environments.
- Strong track record influencing and driving outcomes through organizational and political complexity.
- Ability to engage credibly with both executive business leaders and senior technology stakeholders.
- Experience building consensus while maintaining accountability and execution discipline.
- Exceptional program leadership, stakeholder management, and change management capabilities.
Expected Compensation - $200,000 - $300,000 base + Cash Bonus
