Job Summary
A growing private equity firm is seeking a Head of Capital Formation to lead fundraising and investor relations efforts across its platform. This individual will be responsible for developing and executing capital raising strategies, with a particular focus on wealth channel investors, family offices, registered investment advisors (RIAs), private banks, and ultra-high-net-worth individuals (UHNWIs). The ideal candidate will bring a proven fundraising track record, deep private wealth relationships, and experience raising capital for private market investment strategies.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute the firm's overall capital formation and fundraising strategy.
  • Lead fundraising efforts across flagship funds, co-investment opportunities, and bespoke investment solutions.
  • Drive the full fundraising lifecycle, from investor sourcing and outreach to due diligence and closing.
  • Partner closely with the investment team to articulate investment strategy, portfolio performance, market positioning, and value creation initiatives.
  • Oversee investor relations activities, including quarterly reporting, annual meetings, portfolio updates, and investor communications.
  • Evaluate and expand distribution channels and strategic partnerships globally.
  • Monitor investor sentiment, fundraising trends, and competitive market dynamics to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Manage and mentor capital formation and investor relations professionals as the platform grows.
  • Represent the firm at conferences, industry events, and investor meetings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA, CFA, or other advanced credentials preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in capital formation, fundraising, investor relations, institutional sales, or business development within private equity or alternative investments.
  • Demonstrated success raising capital from institutional investors.
  • Established network across pensions, endowments, foundations, family offices, consultants, and other institutional allocators.
  • Strong understanding of private market investment strategies and fund structures.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, and relationship management skills.
  • Ability to operate strategically while also executing at a high level in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience managing fundraising teams and cross-functional initiatives is highly preferred.
