Founding CTO | Quantitative & Machine Learning Lead (Boston Only)
Founding leadership opportunity to own and scale the quantitative, machine learning, and data platform for an emerging investment firm. You'll take an existing prototype to production, lead technology strategy, and build the engineering team from the ground up.
Responsibilities:
Own ML models, quantitative research, data infrastructure, execution technology, and decision-support systems.
Transform investment ideas into testable models through research, backtesting, validation, and production deployment.
Build scalable data platforms incorporating market, financial, regulatory, and alternative datasets.
Develop production-grade pipelines, monitoring, model governance, risk controls, and audit frameworks.
Partner directly with founders on investment research and strategy.
Recruit, mentor, and lead the technology organization.
Requirements:
Strong background in machine learning, quantitative engineering, or systematic investing.
Expert Python skills with deep experience in data engineering, SQL, cloud data platforms, and software development.
Proven ability to build systems from scratch and take ownership of an entire function.
Preferred:
Finance, hedge fund, or systematic trading experience.
Master's or PhD.
Biotech or healthcare data experience is a plus.
