About the Opportunity

Our client is a leading global investment banking and financial advisory firm that is seeking a Financial Restructuring Associate to join its growing restructuring practice. The firm advises corporations, lenders, investors, and other stakeholders on complex financial situations, including restructurings, distressed M&A transactions, recapitalizations, and special situations.

This team is consistently engaged on high-profile and middle-market restructuring assignments across a wide range of industries. Associates will have significant exposure to senior bankers, clients, and transaction execution while working on some of the most complex situations in the market.

Position Overview

The Financial Restructuring Associate will play an integral role in the execution of restructuring and distressed advisory engagements. Associates work directly with senior professionals and clients on both debtor-side and creditor-side assignments, as well as distressed mergers and acquisitions and capital raising transactions.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising companies, lenders, creditors, and investors in both in-court and out-of-court restructuring situations.
  • Developing complex financial models and valuation analyses.
  • Supporting debt and equity capital raising efforts.
  • Assisting with distressed M&A and special situations advisory engagements.
  • Preparing marketing materials, presentations, and transaction-related analyses.
  • Conducting industry, company, and financial research.
  • Participating in negotiations and strategic discussions with clients and stakeholders.
  • Managing multiple workstreams simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation, exceptional analytical capabilities, and the ability to thrive in a demanding transaction environment.

Requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a strong academic record.
  • Approximately 3+ years of investment banking, restructuring, leveraged finance, transaction advisory, valuation, or related financial advisory experience.
  • Strong understanding of accounting, corporate finance, and valuation methodologies.
  • Advanced financial modeling and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Strong presentation and client-facing skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and project management capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrated work ethic and commitment to delivering high-quality results.
