Finance Manager
For our client, a global high‑frequency trading (HFT) firm establishing its new Amsterdam entity, we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Finance Manager to build and oversee the local finance function. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast‑paced, data‑driven environments and can confidently operate within a regulated financial markets ecosystem.
Key Responsibilities
- Take ownership of all local financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, accounting, liquidity planning, and regulatory reporting for the new Amsterdam entity.
- Build, lead, and develop the local finance team, offering hands‑on guidance and structured people‑management.
- Produce accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Dutch GAAP and sector‑specific regulatory expectations.
- Manage cash flows, capital allocation, financial controls, and risk governance in a trading‑intensive environment.
- Partner closely with global leadership, traders, quants, and operations teams to support financial planning, performance insights, and strategic initiatives.
- Ensure full compliance with Dutch regulatory bodies (e.g., DNB, AFM), audit requirements, and internal controls frameworks.
- Implement and optimise financial processes suited for a high‑volume, high‑automation trading organisation, improving efficiency and reporting speed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; professional qualifications (RA, RC, ACCA, CPA) are highly valued.
- Demonstrated experience as a Finance Manager or Senior Finance Professional within financial services-experience in trading, fintech, brokerage, or regulated markets is strongly preferred.
- Proven people‑management experience in a hands‑on function.
- Strong knowledge of Dutch reporting standards, regulatory frameworks, and capital/operational requirements for financial institutions.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to work effectively in a data-heavy, technologically sophisticated environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and non‑technical teams globally
