Director, PolySystems
We have partnered with a rapidly growing life insurance company that is looking to expand their PolySystems Modeling team by adding a Director to lead and drive innovation. This key leadership role will focus on designing, developing, and delivering robust modeling capabilities across various blocks of business. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in PolySystems and Python, as well as strong actuarial expertise to guide the team toward achieving technical excellence and business value.

Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Team Development: Lead the PolySystems Modeling team, providing guidance, mentorship, and fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and collaboration. You will oversee the team’s work and support their professional growth and development.
- Agile Best Practices: Drive agile best practices, helping the team maintain a focus on value, prioritize high-impact work, and continuously improve processes to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- PolySystems Best Practices: Define and implement PolySystems best practices across the suite of supported models and businesses, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in all modeling activities.
- Actuarial Model Conversion: Take the lead in the conversion of actuarial models to PolySystems, ensuring that existing models are seamlessly integrated and optimized for the platform.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, actuarial, and business stakeholders, to ensure alignment and the successful implementation of modeling capabilities that meet business needs.
- Innovation and Process Improvement: Continuously explore new techniques and technologies to improve modeling capabilities, optimize efficiency, and maintain cutting-edge actuarial modeling practices.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of actuarial experience with at least 3 years focused on actuarial modeling. Extensive hands-on experience in the PolySystems platform and Python programming is a must.
- ASA designation required, with FSA preferred. A strong actuarial background, along with the ability to lead teams and projects, is essential.
- Advanced modeling skills using PolySystems and Python. You should be well-versed in both systems and programming languages to effectively lead and implement modeling solutions.
- Proven track record of driving projects from conceptualization to delivery while adhering to best practices in modeling and actuarial processes.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex actuarial concepts into actionable, efficient modeling solutions.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage effectively with various stakeholders, from technical teams to business leaders.
