Summary:
A leading organization in the manufacturing sector is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Accounts Receivable. This role is a key member of the accounting team that is responsible for driving AR strategy, operational excellence, and data transparency to support business growth and financial performance. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in credit, collections, deduction management, and ERP optimization, along with a strong leadership presence and a continuous improvement mindset.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing AR team, setting clear goals aligned with company objectives.
- Drive weekly KPI/KPM reporting to provide actionable insights and support decision-making.
- Enable accurate AR forecasting to support cash flow planning and treasury functions.
- Lead the Order-to-Cash (OTC) process, ensuring timely invoicing, collections, and resolution of deductions and credit memos.
- Oversee day-to-day AR operations, including transaction processing, cash application, and customer account management.
- Monitor customer creditworthiness and lead the Credit Committee process to mitigate risk.
- Maintain and manage the customer allowances database and ensure visibility across business units.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Service, and Finance to resolve issues and improve processes.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities related to OTC.
- Recommend and implement ERP system enhancements to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Establish and enforce financial controls, policies, and best practices across all AR functions.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives to streamline transaction processing and reporting.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA or CPA preferred.
- 10+ years of Accounts Receivable/Accounting experience, with at least 5 years managing direct reports
- Strong background in manufacturing, retail, or consumer sectors
- Proven success in deduction management, credit risk analysis and AR forecasting.
- Advanced proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and Microsoft Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to present complex financial data clearly and strategically to senior leadership.
- High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and a disciplined, results-oriented approach.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A collaborative team player with a strong sense of accountability and integrity.
