Director, Front Office Cross-Asset Market Risk
A leading Investment Bank is seeking a Director level, Front Office Cross-Asset Market Risk Manager to join its Global Markets business. This is a chance to sit at the center of a top-tier trading franchise and become a key voice in risk-taking, capital allocation, and return optimization across the whole Markets portfolio.
The successful candidate will join a first line of defense risk team that covers every major trading business. The role offers direct access to the Head of the team and senior trading business heads, plus the chance to shape how risk and capital are managed across a global, multi-asset platform.
Responsibilities:
- Act as a key front office risk partner to Global Markets, building a full, forward-looking view of risks across the bank.
- Identify, quantify, and challenge market risks within the trading inventory, taking into account macro themes, market conditions, and portfolio concentrations.
- Analyze return on capital, and help design hedging strategies that put risk where it earns the most.
- Work with independent risk teams to set appropriate risk limits, and with Technology and Quants to build advanced analytics and risk monitoring tools.
Qualifications:
- 10-15+ years of experience in Fixed Income Trading (Exotics Preferred) or Non-Linear Rates Market Risk
- Deep knowledge of Greeks, and risk metrics such as VaR and stress testing.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to influence and negotiate with senior trading and risk leaders.
- Ability to understand complex, mathematical, problems. Strong understanding of model methodology and outputs, being able to take outputs and put them into actionable insights
