Crude Oil/NGL/Distillates- Junior Trader
Job Description:
An established energy trading desk in Houston is seeking a highly motivated Junior Trader to support and grow its physical and financial trading activities across crude oil, natural gas liquids (NGLs), and refined products. This role offers exposure to front-office trading operations and the opportunity to develop deep market expertise in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about energy markets, eager to learn, and capable of working collaboratively across teams to support trading decisions and execution. This is a hands-on role that provides a strong foundation for long-term growth within the trading organization.
Responsibilities:
* Assist senior traders in executing and managing trades across crude oil, NGLs, and distillates
* Monitor market fundamentals, pricing structures, and logistics flows
* Support trade analysis, deal capture, and P&L reconciliation
* Collaborate with risk, operations, and scheduling teams to ensure accurate trade execution
* Contribute to market research and strategy development
* Maintain awareness of global supply/demand trends and geopolitical factors impacting markets
Qualifications:
* 5+ years of experience in oil trading or commodities
* Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field
* Strong analytical and quantitative skills; proficiency in Excel and data tools
* Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
* Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities
