CRE Credit Risk Analyst
Specific Responsibilities
- Review pledged assets to ensure eligibility as collateral, appropriate quality based on underwriting and loan structure, accurate reporting, compliance with applicable laws and policies, and proper collateral status.
- Conduct reviews of assets such as residential loans, multifamily loans, commercial real estate loans, home equity loans, and agricultural loans prior to being pledged and periodically thereafter.
- Perform reviews of collateral pledged by higher-risk counterparties, including those on watch lists or with large exposures.
- Analyze financial statement line items to confirm collateral reports accurately represent pledged assets.
- Prepare detailed reports of findings, interpret audit results, and provide recommendations to management regarding individual counterparties.
- Develop and prepare trend analysis reports on collateral eligibility and quality across the portfolio, based on underwriting factors.
- Communicate with counterparties' management to coordinate audits and report findings.
- Collect and interpret information about counterparties' procedures for custody of pledged collateral, both onsite and through remote communication.
- Conduct onsite audits of third-party custodians to evaluate security and soundness of storage facilities, including access controls and fire resistance. Assess processes for document tracking, receipt/release, and handling exceptions.
- Assist with lien perfection processes (e.g., UCC filings) as directed.
- Support collateral desk audits and perform special assignments as needed.
