Consumer Credit Strategy & Analytics Leader
Overview
I'm currently working with a well-established consumer lending organization seeking a Consumer Credit Strategy & Analytics Leader to lead credit strategy and policy initiatives for its credit card portfolio. The role will focus on credit policy, underwriting strategy, portfolio management, risk segmentation, and decision analytics, while leading a team of analysts and partnering closely with product, risk, and modeling teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and optimization of credit policy strategies across consumer lending portfolios.
- Drive underwriting, approval/decline, risk segmentation, line assignment, and portfolio management strategies.
- Monitor portfolio performance, emerging risk trends, and key credit metrics while providing actionable insights to leadership.
- Partner with modeling teams to implement and leverage risk, valuation, and predictive models within credit decision strategies.
- Conduct deep-dive analyses to identify policy enhancement opportunities and support growth initiatives.
- Develop and deliver executive-level reporting and presentations on portfolio performance and risk trends.
- Collaborate with Product, Operations, Technology, Finance, and Risk stakeholders to execute strategic initiatives.
- Lead and mentor a team of analysts while fostering a strong analytical and risk-focused culture.
- Support regulatory, audit, and governance-related activities as needed.
- Explore opportunities to leverage advanced analytics and AI-driven solutions to enhance decision-making and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in credit risk management, credit policy, decision analytics, or consumer lending strategy.
- Prior experience supporting consumer lending products, with strong preference for credit card-related experience.
- Demonstrated experience developing or managing credit policies, underwriting strategies, portfolio management strategies, or risk-based decision frameworks.
- Prior people management experience with the ability to lead and develop analytical teams.
- Strong SQL skills required; Python experience preferred.
- Experience translating complex analyses into clear recommendations for senior leadership.
- Proven ability to operate effectively in cross-functional environments and influence key stakeholders.
- Advanced degree in a quantitative field preferred.
