Commercial Account Manager
Summary
The Commercial Account Manager supports client service needs, manages updates to existing accounts, and helps deliver on service and sales standards. This role partners closely with Producers and Account Executives to handle new and renewal commercial business while maintaining high quality service standards.
Essential Functions
- Process new business applications and renewal instructions with accuracy and completeness
- Prepare proposals and applications in partnership with Producers, submit to appropriate carriers, and obtain client signatures as needed
- Track submissions to ensure timely receipt of quotes and policies
- Perform rating activities through carrier systems and calculate premiums when applicable
- Issue binders, invoices, and resolve carrier accounting discrepancies
- Prepare certificates, endorsements, policies, account summaries, and related documentation
- Deliver documents to clients and manage ongoing correspondence with clients and carriers
- Maintain follow ups, suspense tracking, and expiration control logs
- Request renewals, endorsements, and required data from carriers and clients
- Coordinate with Producers and Account Executives to secure and bind coverage efficiently within underwriting authority
- Review policies, endorsements, audits, and cancellations for accuracy in coverage, rating, and documentation
- Generate billing and ensure client files remain organized and current
- Identify and address cancellation requests, working to retain business and notifying Producers as needed
- Handle inbound client and carrier communication and direct inquiries appropriately
- Identify cross sell opportunities and refer clients internally when appropriate
- Participate in training, maintain licensing requirements, and stay informed on carrier appetite and guidelines
- Ensure all activities reduce exposure to errors and omissions risk
Additional Responsibilities
This role may include additional duties as needed to support business operations. Performance objectives may be established annually. Work arrangements, including remote flexibility, may vary based on business needs and team structure.
Qualifications
Job Qualifications
- Active P&C license required
- 2 to 4 years of Commercial Lines Account Management experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- CPCU or CIC designation is a plus
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong understanding of coverage, rating, and overall P&C operations
- Knowledge of insurance markets and carrier relationships
- Proficiency with agency management systems and general computer skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment
- Self directed with strong organizational skills

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across teams
- Team oriented mindset with a client focused approach
- Ability to follow internal procedures and maintain confidentiality
