Collateral Risk Analyst
Role Overview
Responsible for auditing loan assets pledged as collateral to ensure compliance with policies, regulations, and quality standards. The role involves reviewing collateral eligibility, accuracy of reporting, and risk indicators, while communicating findings to management and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Review pledged assets (e.g., residential, multifamily, commercial real estate, home equity, agricultural loans) for eligibility and quality.
- Verify compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Analyze financial data to confirm accuracy of collateral reports.
- Prepare detailed audit reports and present recommendations to management.
- Conduct onsite audits of custodians to assess security and document control processes.
- Assist with lien perfection (UCC filings), desk audits, and special projects.
- Communicate with member institutions regarding audit preparation and findings.
- Develop reports analyzing collateral trends and risk factors.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
- 1-3 years of experience in financial institutions, preferably in lending, analysis, or auditing.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel; knowledge of Access and Adobe Acrobat a plus.
- Ability to travel weekly with occasional overnight stays.
- Detail-oriented, independent, and able to manage multiple priorities.
