Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Coal Trader to join our team in Vietnam. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing coal trading activities, developing new business opportunities, and ensuring compliance with local and international trade regulations. This role requires strong market insight, negotiation skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor global and regional coal market trends, supply-demand dynamics, and price movements.
  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in the coal trading sector.
  • Negotiate contracts with suppliers and buyers (e.g. EVN, PVN, etc), ensuring compliance with regulatory and contractual obligations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Vietnamese and international suppliers, buyers, and logistics partners.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to support pricing strategies and trading decisions.
  • Manage trading risks through hedging strategies and portfolio diversification.
  • Ensure timely execution and delivery of contracts.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (risk, operations, finance) to optimize trading performance.
  • Prepare regular reports and presentations on market analysis, trading performance, and forecasts.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in coal or commodities trading, preferably in Vietnam.
  • Strong knowledge of global and Vietnam's coal markets, pricing mechanisms, and trade regulations.
  • Experience with risk management tools and hedging strategies.
  • Proficiency in Vietnamese and English; Chinese is a plus.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
