China Equity Analyst - Hedge Fund
Selby Jennings has partnered with a London-based investment manager focused on global EM equity strategies, combining on-the-ground research with a fundamental L/S investment approach. They are currently seeking an experienced investment professional to cover the Greater China market with a sector agnostic mandate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Focus on the Greater China market across sectors, with a tilt towards the Tech sector (software, internet, hardware, semis)
- Generate long and short equity investment recommendations supported by detailed financial modelling and proprietary research.
- Conduct in-depth company and industry analysis, attend management meetings, and monitor portfolio holdings.
- Leverage emerging technologies to enhance research and decision-making.
- Participate in earnings calls, industry conferences, and maintain relationships with market participants.
Requirements:
- Must bring relevant buyside experience from a LO or fundamental L/S fund
- Broad equity investment knowledge / background, with relevant exposure to the Greater China equities market
- Understanding of and experience with various equity valuation techniques
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to generate actionable investment ideas
- Able to work autonomously and independently, as well as collaboratively with the investment team
- Professional work ethic and behaviour. Personal integrity is paramount
- Fluency in written and spoken Mandarin considered a strong advantage
