Role Overview
The Chief Risk and Compliance Officer (CRCO) will be the senior executive responsible for overseeing all risk management and compliance functions within the Amsterdam entity. This is a critical leadership role, appointed by the AFM, ensuring adherence to Dutch and EU regulatory requirements while safeguarding the firm's reputation and operational resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Regulatory Oversight: Act as the primary liaison with the AFM and other relevant authorities, ensuring full compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Risk Management Framework: Design, implement, and maintain a robust risk management framework covering market, operational, and counterparty risks.
- Compliance Strategy: Develop and enforce compliance policies aligned with MiFID II, AML, and other relevant regulatory standards.
- Governance & Reporting: Provide regular risk and compliance reports to the Board and senior management; ensure timely escalation of material issues.
- Internal Controls: Oversee internal audits, monitoring programs, and training initiatives to foster a strong compliance culture.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with global teams to harmonize risk and compliance practices across jurisdictions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Proven track record in senior risk and compliance roles within regulated financial institutions, preferably exchanges or trading platforms with exposure for FX products.
- Deep understanding of AFM regulations, MiFID II, and EU financial market frameworks.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to influence at Board level.
- Experience managing relationships with regulators and institutional clients.
- Fluency in English; Dutch language skills are an advantage.
