Catastrophe Modelling Portfolio Lead - Speciality
Selby Jennings is working with a leading insurance group to identify a Catastrophe Modelling Portfolio Lead focused on speciality lines. This strategic role offers the opportunity to lead modelling efforts across a complex portfolio, driving innovation, process efficiency, and underwriting performance in a fast-paced, globally aligned environment.
The successful candidate will oversee end-to-end catastrophe modelling and exposure management processes, ensuring data quality, model accuracy, and alignment with internal standards. You'll collaborate with underwriting, analytics, and external partners to deliver insights that support business planning, portfolio optimisation, and risk selection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead catastrophe modelling and data capture across speciality product lines
- Ensure exposure data standards are understood and maintained
- Embed technology to improve modelling workflows and reporting
- Produce modelled rollups and Pro Forma for planning and performance tracking
- Conduct research into non-modelled scenarios and develop reporting frameworks
- Manage internal and external modelling resources and outsourcing partners
- Support strategic roadmap development and cross-portfolio collaboration
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 year's experience in catastrophe modelling (RMS/AIR)
- Strong skills in Excel and SQL; Python/R, VBA, and GIS tools (e.g. QGIS) desirable
- Experience in exposure management within the Lloyd's market
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
