About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Bunker Trader to join our marine fuels trading team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and suppliers, negotiating bunker fuel deals, and ensuring timely and efficient delivery of marine fuels globally.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage a portfolio of clients and suppliers in the marine fuel industry.
- Negotiate and close bunker fuel deals, ensuring competitive pricing and optimal margins.
- Monitor market trends, pricing, and competitor activity to identify trading opportunities.
- Coordinate with operations and logistics teams to ensure smooth delivery and post-fixture follow-up.
- Maintain accurate records of trades, contracts, and communications.
- Provide market intelligence and contribute to strategic trading decisions.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Maritime Studies, or a related field.
- At least 2-5 years of experience in bunker trading or marine fuels
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships.
- High level of initiative, self-motivation, and resilience.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and trading platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Existing client and supplier network in the marine fuels industry.
- Multilingual abilities, especially in English and Mandarin, are a plus.
- Knowledge of shipping operations and marine logistics.
- As there is a need to deal with Chinese or Indian clients, the candidate should be fluent in either Chinese or Hindi
