Back-End Engineer (Junior / Mid-Level)

A fast-growing technology company operating at the intersection of finance and advanced software engineering is looking to add a Back-End Engineer to its team. The business is building a platform that streamlines and automates complex financial structures, combining traditional financial systems with modern infrastructure and emerging technologies.
Role Overview
You will design and build scalable, production-ready back-end systems and APIs, with a strong focus on reliability, performance, and maintainability. The role involves working on complex, data-driven workflows and contributing to the architecture of systems that handle sophisticated financial logic.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop robust back-end systems and APIs using Golang
- Build and manage integrations across multiple data sources, services, and distributed systems
- Translate complex financial processes into well-structured, maintainable code
- Ensure high standards of code quality, testing, and documentation
- Apply security best practices across the full stack
- Contribute to system architecture and technical decision-making as part of a collaborative engineering team
- Support broader engineering efforts where needed, including infrastructure, DevOps, and data pipelines
Requirements
- Proven ability to build and deploy back-end systems and APIs in Golang
- Solid understanding of communication protocols such as REST, HTTP, gRPC, GraphQL, and messaging systems
- Experience working with databases, particularly PostgreSQL, including schema design and lifecycle management
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and CI/CD workflows
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Proactive mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality, production-ready solutions
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
Nice to Have
- Experience with containerised applications and monitoring tools
- Exposure to blockchain technologies or distributed ledger systems
- Familiarity with AI or LLM-based tooling in production environments
- Background in financial systems, fintech, or structured products
