Associate - M&A Advisory
We're representing an elite boutique investment bank in Hong Kong looking to add an experienced Associate to their team as a result of expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support M&A transaction execution from initial pitch through closing, managing multiple workstreams under tight deadlines.
- Develop and review advanced financial models including DCF, LBO, merger models, and accretion/dilution analysis to evaluate deal feasibility and strategic impact.
- Perform comprehensive valuation analyses using comparable companies, precedent transactions, and other methodologies to provide actionable insights for clients.
- Prepare high-quality client presentations and pitch materials in English and Mandarin, ensuring clarity and accuracy for senior executives and stakeholders.
- Coordinate due diligence processes across financial, legal, and operational areas, liaising with external advisors and managing virtual data rooms.
- Conduct detailed industry and company research, identify strategic opportunities, and monitor macroeconomic and regulatory developments impacting cross-border deals.
- Support business development initiatives, including idea generation and preparation of marketing materials to originate new mandates.
- Mentor junior analysts, review their work for accuracy, and contribute to a collaborative team environment focused on excellence.
Qualifications
- Strong investment banking experience, ideally within an M&A product team, with proven deal execution experience.
- Strong technical expertise in financial modelling and valuation techniques, with proficiency in Excel and familiarity with Bloomberg, Capital IQ, or similar platforms.
- Fluent in Mandarin and English; Cantonese proficiency is a strong advantage for local client interaction.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts clearly to senior stakeholders.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of thriving in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree from a top-tier university in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or related field; CFA or CPA is a plus.
