Asia Industrials Equity Analyst | Global L/S Hedge Fund
Selby Jennings has partnered with a global multi-strategy multi-manager hedge fund in seeking an Asia Industrials Equity Analyst to join their team in Hong Kong. This opportunity offers the chance to work directly with an experienced Industrials Portfolio Manager, supporting fundamental investment research across the Asia-Pacific region. Coverage will include a broad range of Industrials sub-sectors including advanced manufacturing, heavy machinery, factory automation, etc.
Responsibilities
- Conduct deep fundamental research on companies across the Asia Industrials universe (including Japan)
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models and investment frameworks
- Generate differentiated long and short investment ideas with clear catalysts and conviction
- Monitor industry developments, management teams, and competitive dynamics
- Work closely with the PM on portfolio construction and idea generation
- Present investment recommendations backed by rigorous analysis
Requirements
- 3-8 years of relevant experience and exposure in covering the space
- Open to candidates with backgrounds in sell-side Equity Research, Long-Only Asset Management, and Long/Short Hedge Funds
- Robust fundamental research methodology
- Demonstrated passion for investing and equity markets
- Strong financial modelling and valuation capabilities
- Ability to independently formulate actionable L/S investment recommendations
- Exposure to Industrials sectors preferred, though strong generalist candidates will also be considered
- Japan coverage exposure preferred
- Japanese language skills are not required
