AI Investment Researcher & Model Development Analyst
A leading global multi-strategy investment manager is building an AI-driven investment platform designed to enhance fundamental research and capital allocation across public markets.
The firm is seeking individuals who began their careers in investment banking, hedge funds, asset management, private credit, public equities, or portfolio management, and subsequently transitioned to a leading AI laboratory where they have been responsible for training, evaluating, and improving frontier AI models on complex financial and investment-related tasks.
This is a highly unique role sitting at the intersection of investing and artificial intelligence. Successful candidates will help train the next generation of proprietary investment models while simultaneously functioning as an investor, conducting fundamental research, maintaining sector coverage, generating investment ideas, and participating in capital deployment decisions.
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is someone who:
- Started their career in investment banking, buy-side investing, asset management, hedge funds, or portfolio management
- Developed a strong foundation in fundamental analysis, valuation, financial modeling, and security selection
- Later joined a leading AI laboratory (OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI, Google DeepMind, Meta AI, or similar frontier AI organization)
- Has been directly involved in teaching, evaluating, or improving large language models on financial reasoning and investment-related problems
- Wants to return to investing while helping build AI systems that can perform institutional-quality investment research
Key Responsibilities
AI Model Development
- Train proprietary AI systems to perform sophisticated fundamental investment research
- Create and evaluate model outputs related to:
- Company analysis
- Financial statement interpretation
- Valuation
- Earnings analysis
- Credit underwriting
- Investment thesis generation
- Portfolio construction
- Design benchmarks and evaluation frameworks that measure the quality of financial reasoning
- Partner with engineers, quantitative researchers, and portfolio managers to improve model performance
Fundamental Investment Research
- Maintain sector and company coverage responsibilities
- Conduct deep fundamental research across equities and/or credit markets
- Build financial models and perform valuation analysis
- Generate investment recommendations and actionable trade ideas
- Present investment views directly to portfolio managers and investment leadership
Capital Deployment
- Participate in portfolio construction discussions
- Evaluate risk/reward profiles of investment opportunities
- Monitor positions and performance attribution
- Leverage internally developed AI tools to improve investment outcomes
