Actuarial Analyst

We're working with a well-established insurance company seeking an experienced Actuarial Analyst to join their team. This role primarily supports Personal Lines, with some exposure to Commercial Lines, and involves work across ratemaking, reserving, and performance monitoring.

The position is based out of their Michigan headquarters, with a hybrid schedule:

  • Monday & Friday - Optional work from home
  • Tuesday to Thursday - In-office

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor performance across personal and commercial lines
  • Develop rate indications and support pricing decisions
  • Perform reserving and recommend reserve levels
  • Analyze internal and competitor data for pricing strategy
  • Support rate filings and respond to regulatory inquiries
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Underwriting, IT, and Finance

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • 5+ years of actuarial experience preferred
  • Degree in Math, Statistics, Economics, or related field
  • 2+ actuarial exams completed (4+ preferred)
  • Strong Excel skills; familiarity with Access, SQL, or VBA a plus
  • Exposure to predictive modeling and GLMs is a bonus
