Sales & Business Development - OCTG Industry
Responsibilities:
- Formulate and implement sales strategies to meet targets for steel pipe products, including seamless and welded types across API 5L, ASTM, and other specifications.
- Drive business development efforts in key sectors such as oil & gas, construction, shipbuilding, water infrastructure, and manufacturing.
- Deliver compelling technical presentations to potential clients, showcasing product capabilities and value propositions.
- Cultivate and sustain long-term relationships with major customers, distributors, and project contractors.
- Respond promptly to client inquiries, prepare quotations, and confirm orders efficiently.
- Conduct regular follow-ups to ensure customer satisfaction and foster repeat business.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of steel pipe specifications, grades, dimensions, international standards (API, ASTM, EN, ISO), and coating/lining options.
- Provide expert guidance to clients on product selection, technical requirements, and compliance with project specifications.
- Collaborate closely with manufacturers to develop accurate and competitive bids and proposals.
- Stay informed on industry developments, competitor activities, and market pricing trends.
- Identify market gaps and recommend innovative sales initiatives to capture new opportunities.
- Coordinate with production, logistics, and quality teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment.
- Track project timelines and proactively address issues that may affect delivery schedules or customer satisfaction.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3-5 years (Assistant Manager), 5 to 10 years (Managerial Level) of proven experience in industrial product sales, ideally within the steel pipe or related sectors.
- Knowledge of international standards such as API 5L, API 5CT, ASTM A106, and ASTM A53 is highly advantageous.
- Strong skills in negotiation, presentation, and communication.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with CRM platforms is a plus.
- Capable of working effectively under pressure and meeting tight deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Willing and able to travel for business as required.
