A privately backed specialty insurance platform is seeking an entrepreneurial Ocean Marine Business Leader to build and lead a new Ocean Marine portfolio from the ground up. This is a rare opportunity to create a product line from scratch, with full autonomy and the ability to shape strategy, structure, and team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and launch a comprehensive Ocean Marine underwriting portfolio.
- Define product strategy, underwriting guidelines, pricing, and risk appetite.
- Build broker and carrier relationships to support distribution and capacity.
- Recruit and lead a team as the portfolio scales.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across operations, compliance, and finance.
- Own performance metrics and portfolio profitability.
Qualifications:
- Deep expertise in Ocean Marine underwriting, ideally across cargo, hull, liability, or related lines.
- Proven track record of building or scaling underwriting programs.
- Strong broker and carrier relationships.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with leadership experience.
- Ability to work independently and drive results.
