SIU Manager
Position Summary:
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic SIU Manager to lead our Special Investigations Unit in Phoenix, Arizona. This role is critical in driving fraud prevention, detection, and investigation efforts across our P&C lines of business. The ideal candidate will bring deep investigative expertise, strong leadership skills, and a proven track record of managing complex fraud cases in the insurance industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of SIU investigators and analysts across multiple lines of business (e.g., auto, property, commercial).
- Oversee the intake, triage, and assignment of suspicious claims for investigation.
- Develop and implement fraud detection strategies, leveraging data analytics and industry best practices.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations, including timely reporting to Departments of Insurance.
- Collaborate with internal departments (Claims, Legal, Underwriting) and external partners (law enforcement, NICB, vendors).
- Prepare and present investigative findings to senior leadership and legal counsel.
- Monitor and report on SIU performance metrics and fraud trends.
- Provide training and guidance to claims staff on fraud awareness and referral protocols.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in insurance fraud investigations, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of P&C insurance products and claims processes.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements for SIU operations (e.g., NAIC Model Act, state-specific mandates).
- Experience working with fraud detection tools, case management systems, and data analytics platforms.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Insurance, or related field; advanced degree or professional certifications (e.g., CIFI, FCLS, CPCU) preferred.
