Medical Economics Director

We are seeking a strategic and data-driven Director of Medical Economics to lead financial and clinical analytics initiatives supporting Medicare Advantage and Value-Based Care (VBC) programs. This role is responsible for driving insights that inform care model design, provider performance, and cost containment strategies across our senior and value-based populations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead financial analysis and modeling for Medicare Advantage and VBC programs, including shared savings, capitation, and risk-based arrangements.
  • Evaluate provider performance, utilization trends, and cost drivers to support network strategy and clinical program design.
  • Oversee the development of dashboards, reports, and presentations that translate complex data into actionable insights for executive leadership.
  • Collaborate with actuarial, clinical, finance, and operations teams to align strategies and improve outcomes.
  • Monitor CMS regulations and policy changes impacting Medicare Advantage economics.
  • Support strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting efforts for VBC initiatives.
  • Mentor and manage a team of analysts and economists, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Economics, Public Health, Statistics, Health Administration, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in healthcare analytics or medical economics, with a strong focus on Medicare Advantage and VBC.
  • Deep understanding of healthcare cost structures, risk adjustment, and provider payment models.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in a matrixed environment.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with CMS regulations, HEDIS measures, and population health strategies.
  • Experience in payer-side analytics or consulting.
  • Background in actuarial analysis or financial modeling is a plus.
