Actuarial Associate - Insurance & Annuity Products

A mission-driven financial services organization is seeking a skilled Actuarial Associate to support the development and management of life insurance and annuity products. Position Summary

The Actuarial Associate will assist in a range of responsibilities including product pricing, assumption development, experience studies, policy value calculations, and regulatory filings. This role is suited for individuals who are either pursuing actuarial credentials or have already achieved an ASA designation, and who are ready to take a proactive leadership role in projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Price new and existing life insurance and annuity products, including premiums, reserves, dividends, and credited rates.
  • Support analysis and pricing of long-term care insurance products.
  • Conduct experience studies (e.g., mortality, lapse) and other statistical analyses.
  • Assist in product implementation, including specification development and validation tools.
  • Provide policyholder and agent support through manual calculations and policy illustrations.
  • Prepare actuarial materials for regulatory filings and certifications.
  • Use modeling software to assess risk and support product development and in-force management.
  • For candidates on the exam track: prepare for and pass actuarial exams in accordance with the organization's student program.

Qualifications

  • Solid understanding of actuarial principles and insurance industry fundamentals.
  • Experience with life insurance and/or annuity product pricing preferred.
  • Familiarity with Participating Whole Life or Deferred Annuities is a plus.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to learn quickly.
  • Effective communication and business judgment.
  • ASA designation or near completion preferred.
