Vice President - Corporate Research Analyst (TMT)
Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Lead sector research and analysis across the EMEA TMT ecosystem, including technology, telecommunications, media, digital infrastructure and related subsectors.
- Monitor and assess key industry trends, competitive dynamics and technological developments, with particular focus on themes such as artificial intelligence, data centres, cloud infrastructure, fibre networks and telecommunications.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive coverage of major companies within the sector, analysing business models, operating performance and strategic positioning.
- Conduct detailed financial statement analysis, including profitability, liquidity, leverage, cash flow generation and capital structure assessment.
- Evaluate credit quality, lending risk and broader financial implications of sector and company developments.
- Produce insightful research reports, sector updates, thematic papers and company analyses for senior management, coverage teams and transaction stakeholders.
- Support origination and execution teams by providing sector expertise and independent analysis on prospective transactions and client opportunities.
- Present research findings and market views to senior stakeholders across the organisation.
- Build and maintain relationships with bankers, risk teams, product partners and external industry participants to enhance sector knowledge and market intelligence.
- Act as an internal subject matter expert on the TMT sector and provide guidance on emerging opportunities and risks.
Candidate Profile
Experience
- Approximately 3-5 years' relevant experience in corporate research, credit research, sector analysis, ratings, consulting or a related discipline. Exceptional candidates with fewer years of experience will also be considered.
- Demonstrable experience analysing companies within the TMT sector.
- Experience producing written research and presenting conclusions to senior stakeholders.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
- Strong understanding of the TMT landscape, including key market participants, industry drivers, competitive dynamics and emerging trends.
- Knowledge of themes such as AI, data centres, telecommunications, connectivity, cloud infrastructure and broader digital infrastructure.
- Strong financial analysis capabilities, including interpretation of financial statements and assessment of business performance.
- Understanding of corporate credit analysis, lending considerations and risk evaluation.
- Ability to synthesise complex information and communicate clear, actionable conclusions.

Preferred Backgrounds
- TMT sector research teams within banks and financial institutions.
- Credit ratings agencies.
- Sector-focused advisory, consulting and research firms such as Analysys Mason, Cartesian and Altman Solon.
- Big Four advisory practices or strategy consulting firms with significant TMT exposure.
- Corporate banking, leveraged finance or credit analysis roles with a TMT specialism.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent academic achievement.
- CFA, ACA or other relevant professional qualifications are advantageous but not essential.
