Trade Technologist - Production Engineering
Responsibilities
- Drive improvements across trading operations by enhancing and automating existing systems and workflows to increase efficiency, robustness, and scalability.
- Take full ownership of critical operational incidents, investigating root causes and delivering timely resolutions.
- Partner closely with both Operations and Engineering teams to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in live trading environments.
- Work alongside external vendors and internal stakeholders to design and implement backend processes that support new product launches and business initiatives.
- Replace manual tasks with well-structured, sustainable automation solutions (e.g., scripts and internal tools).
- Proactively identify and implement enhancements across systems, processes, and tooling frameworks.
- Provide out-of-hours support on an ad hoc basis and contribute to testing and release activities when needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- 3-10 years' experience in trading support or a comparable technical function within a financial services environment.
- Excellent Python Skills
- Strong hands-on experience working with Linux systems
- Demonstrated ability to deliver operational improvements and contribute effectively within a team-based environment.
- Clear and professional communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure trading setting.
- Practical, solutions-oriented mindset with an interest in building efficient and scalable automation tools.
- Self-starter mentality with the ability to improve systems while balancing real-world limitations and constraints.
