Software Developer - Trading Technology

Software Developer | Trading Technology | Macro Hedge Fund | Rowayton, CT

A well-established macro hedge fund is looking to add a Software Developer to its Trading Technology team. This is an opportunity to join a small, highly collaborative group that works directly with quantitative traders and researchers to build and support the systems that power pre-trade signals, order generation, and other business-critical trading workflows.

This role offers a unique combination of technical ownership, business exposure, and direct interaction with investment professionals. Rather than working on back-office applications, you'll be helping to develop and maintain technology that sits close to the investment process and is used daily by the firm's trading and research teams.

What they're looking for:

  • 1-6 years of software development experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Strong C#/.NET development skills
  • SQL and database experience
  • Prior financial services experience required
  • Strong object-oriented programming and software engineering fundamentals
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work onsite 5 days per week in Rowayton, CT

What you'll be doing:

  • Developing and enhancing trading applications used across the investment process
  • Supporting pre-trade signal generation and order management workflows
  • Working directly with traders, researchers, and other technology teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions
  • Troubleshooting production issues and improving system performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Contributing to the design and architecture of business-critical applications

Why it's interesting:

  • Direct interaction with traders and researchers
  • Small team with meaningful ownership and visibility
  • Strong culture and exceptional employee tenure
  • Opportunity to work on technology that directly impacts investment decisions and trading activity
  • Stable, well-capitalized buy-side environment
  • Competitive compensation, bonus, benefits, free lunch, on-site gym, and waterfront office setting

This is a strong fit for engineers coming from trading technology, market data, OMS/EMS platforms, front-office applications, or other capital markets technology environments who are looking to deepen their exposure to the buy side and work more closely with investment professionals.
