Senior RM - Greater China Coverage
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Relationship Manager to join our client's Corporate Banking team in Singapore, covering the Greater China market. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and expanding relationships with large corporates, multinational corporations (MNCs), state-owned enterprises (SOEs), privately owned enterprises (POEs), and mid-cap companies headquartered in Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan with business interests across Southeast Asia.
The role involves originating lending opportunities, transaction banking mandates, treasury solutions, trade finance, and cross-border banking opportunities while acting as the primary client coverage banker. The candidate will work closely with Product Partners, Credit Risk, and regional coverage teams to deliver holistic banking solutions and drive sustainable revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Relationship Management & Client Coverage
- Manage and grow a portfolio of Greater China corporate clients operating across Asia.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for senior management, CFOs, Treasurers, and key decision-makers.
- Develop deep understanding of clients' businesses, industry dynamics, strategic priorities, and financing requirements.
- Maintain regular client engagement through relationship reviews, business development meetings, and strategic discussions.
Business Development & Origination
- Identify and originate new banking opportunities across:
- Corporate lending
- Bilateral and syndicated loans
- Working capital financing
- Trade and supply chain finance
- Cash management solutions
- Treasury and FX products
- ESG financing
- Structured finance opportunities
- Generate new-to-bank relationships and deepen existing client wallet share.
- Build and maintain a strong network within the Greater China corporate ecosystem, including chambers of commerce, industry associations, legal firms, accounting firms, and financial sponsors.
Credit & Lending
- Lead credit origination and transaction execution processes.
- Assess clients' financing requirements and develop appropriate lending structures.
- Prepare credit proposals, annual reviews, and transaction memorandums.
- Work closely with Credit Risk teams to ensure timely approvals and adherence to risk appetite.
Transaction Banking & Cross-Selling
- Collaborate with Transaction Banking teams to deliver:
- Cash management solutions
- Liquidity structures
- Trade finance products
- Supply chain financing
- Receivables and payables solutions
- Partner with Treasury and Markets teams to provide:
- FX risk management
- Interest rate hedging
- Commodity hedging solutions
- Drive multi-product penetration and maximize client profitability.
Cross-Border Connectivity
- Support Greater China clients expanding into Southeast Asia and Singapore.
- Facilitate interactions between regional branches and product specialists.
- Identify inbound and outbound investment opportunities requiring banking support.
- Act as a bridge between headquarters and regional subsidiaries across Asia.
Risk Management & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements.
- Monitor credit quality and proactively identify emerging risks.
- Conduct KYC, AML, and periodic account reviews.
- Maintain strong portfolio quality and asset performance.
Requirements
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related discipline.
- CFA, CPA, FRM, or equivalent professional qualifications are advantageous.
Experience
- Minimum 10-15+ years of corporate banking relationship management experience.
- Proven experience covering Greater China corporates from Singapore, Hong Kong, or Mainland China.
- Strong track record in originating lending and transaction banking opportunities.
- Experience working with large corporates, conglomerates, SOEs, and MNCs.
- Familiarity with cross-border treasury, trade finance, and working capital structures.
