Senior Compliance Officer
We are working with a well‑established investment manager to recruit a Compliance Officer for its Paris office. This is a broad, advisory‑focused compliance role within a sophisticated trading environment covering a range of liquid asset classes.
The firm is seeking an experienced compliance professional who is comfortable operating close to the business, advising investment and trading teams while helping to maintain a strong and pragmatic compliance framework in line with European regulatory standards.
This role would suit someone with 5+ years of experience in advisory compliance within capital markets, looking for breadth, responsibility, and exposure across multiple strategies.
Key Responsibilities
The Compliance Officer will take on a wide‑ranging remit, including:
- Acting as a primary compliance advisor to front‑office, trading, and investment teams
- Providing day‑to‑day guidance on capital markets activity, including market conduct, market abuse, conflicts of interest, personal account dealing, and best execution
- Supporting the development, implementation, and ongoing review of compliance policies and procedures
- Monitoring regulatory developments and translating them into practical, business‑focused advice
- Contributing to trade surveillance, monitoring, and control activities
- Assisting with regulatory filings, audits, and interactions with regulators
- Supporting compliance training and awareness initiatives across the Paris office
- Collaborating with global compliance colleagues to ensure alignment across jurisdictions
The role is intentionally broad rather than siloed, offering exposure across multiple asset classes and strategies within a dynamic investment platform.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years of experience in compliance within capital markets
- A strong background in advisory compliance (rather than purely monitoring or operational compliance)
- Experience gained within an investment bank, asset manager, hedge fund, or similar regulated institution
- Good understanding of liquid products and trading environments
- The ability to engage confidently with front‑office stakeholders while maintaining appropriate independence
- A pragmatic, commercial mindset suited to a fast‑paced investment business
- Fluency in both English and French (written and spoken) - this is a firm requirement given the Paris location and regulatory environment
