Risk Officer, Power
A leading global hedge fund is seeking a Risk Officer to join its growing Energy Risk team, providing day-to-day risk oversight across European Power & Gas trading activities.
Working closely with traders and portfolio managers, you'll be responsible for monitoring risk across physical and financial positions, developing stress-testing and scenario analysis, challenging exposures, and helping enhance risk analytics and reporting frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and challenge risk across European Power & Gas trading activities
- Partner closely with traders and portfolio managers on risk and exposure management
- Develop stress-testing and scenario analysis frameworks
- Contribute to risk reporting, limit monitoring, and portfolio analysis
- Identify areas for improvement within existing risk analytics and processes
- Collaborate with Technology and Quant teams to enhance risk tools and infrastructure
Ideal Background
- Experience within Market Risk, Trading Risk, Commodity Risk, or Trading
- Strong understanding of European Power markets and physical energy trading
- Exposure to Gas markets is advantageous
- Ability to communicate complex risks clearly and effectively
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Python and/or SQL skills preferred
