We are thrilled to present an incredible opportunity to join our client's high-performing global SMAD team in an ambitious and innovative role as a Quantitative Researcher, based in Hong Kong. As a VP or Director-level professional, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing the success of our client's Delta One trading desk in Asia. This is a strategically essential position that focuses on cutting-edge intraday execution, market microstructure research, and alpha generation, while collaborating closely with a renowned global team to improve trading outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop innovative intraday alpha signals with short to multi-hour horizons.
- Research market microstructure, order-book dynamics, and execution alpha to strengthen decision-making processes.
- Build or enhance stock market-making and intraday forecasting models, including volatility and mid-price predictions.
- Conduct flow toxicity analysis and integrate these insights into trading models.
- Evaluate and backtest high-Sharpe intraday strategies (Sharpe > 3 benchmark).
- Collaborate with global colleagues to drive improvements in execution quality and reduce slippage.
- Provide primary coverage of China/Greater China equity markets.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- 8+ years of quantitative research experience, with a strong foundation in intraday signals, microstructure, and order-book modelling.
- Expertise in MM algorithms, execution research, or flow toxicity is highly advantageous.
- Experience in either sell-side or buy-side environments.
- Comfortable working independently as part of a newly established regional team, driving impactful results.
