Quantitative Options Trader
A quantitative trading firm with a global presence is in the middle of expanding their equity volatility group by bringing on an experienced quantitative trader that can add orthogonal value. The team is highly collaborative and has produced strong returns YoY but looking to grow their footprint. Their primary focus is on the equity/equity index space but they are very interested in building into fixed income, commodity, and crypto verticals. The firm is able to offer exceptional resources with dedicated internal technology teams, connectivity to exchanges globally, and access to additional capital. The compensation packages are extremely competitive with high base/draw and top of market splits on Pnl.
Primary responsibilities:
- Develop, backtest, and implement systematic options trading strategies.
- Monitor and manage open positions, optimizing for risk-adjusted returns.
- Analyze market microstructure and options pricing dynamics to identify alpha opportunities.
- Collaborate with quantitative researchers and software engineers to enhance trading infrastructure and tools.
- Ensure compliance with internal risk controls and external regulatory requirements.
Background and qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in a systematic options trading seat.
- Proven ability to make real-time decisions in high pressure environments.
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++.
- Demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and statistical models.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- B.S.+ in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Physics, or Computer Science.
