Overview
A leading hedge fund is looking to hire a Quantitative Developer focused on execution systems and trading infrastructure. The role sits at the intersection of trading, research, and engineering, supporting the design, optimisation, and reliability of execution platforms used across systematic strategies.
The successful candidate will work closely with traders and researchers to improve execution quality, reduce transaction costs, and ensure robust, low-latency deployment of trading strategies.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build execution systems and trading infrastructure supporting systematic strategies
- Develop and optimise low-latency components for order routing, execution, and market connectivity
- Improve execution performance, including slippage, market impact, and fill rates
- Work with traders and researchers to translate execution requirements into scalable systems
- Build and maintain real-time data pipelines for market and order book data
- Develop tools for monitoring trading systems, performance, and stability
- Contribute to pre-trade and post-trade analytics, including transaction cost analysis and execution metrics
- Ensure robustness and reliability of live systems, including troubleshooting and production support
Candidate Profile
- 3-8+ years' experience as a quantitative developer or low-level trading systems engineer
- Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++ (performance-critical systems)
- Experience building or supporting execution platforms, OMS/EMS, or trading systems
- Solid understanding of:
- Market microstructure and execution workflows
- Order routing and exchange connectivity
- Transaction cost analysis (TCA)
- Experience working with real-time, high-volume data systems
Preferred Experience
- Background in systematic hedge funds or proprietary trading firms
- Exposure to low-latency or high-frequency environments
- Experience with tick data, order book data, or execution algorithms
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and distributed systems
