Overview
A confidential, Charlotte-based private investment firm is seeking a Private Equity Analyst to join its investment team. The Analyst will support all aspects of the investment lifecycle, including deal evaluation, execution, and portfolio company support within the lower middle market.

This Analyst role offers strong exposure to senior investment professionals and company leadership, providing a compelling opportunity for an Analyst looking to build a long-term career in private equity. The Analyst will play a key role in underwriting new investments, supporting transactions, and contributing to value creation initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Analyst will build and maintain detailed financial models, including operating models, LBOs, and return analyses
  • The Analyst will conduct in-depth industry, market, and company research to support investment decisions
  • The Analyst will support financial, commercial, and operational due diligence processes
  • The Analyst will prepare investment committee materials, including investment memoranda and presentation decks
  • The Analyst will assist with transaction execution, including coordination with external advisors
  • The Analyst will support portfolio company monitoring, including performance tracking and valuation analysis
  • The Analyst will assist in evaluating add-on acquisition opportunities
  • The Analyst will contribute to business development initiatives through market mapping and opportunity research

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 1-2 years of experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, valuation, or a related field
  • Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities expected of an Analyst
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
