Portfolio Manager - Asset Backed Finance
Overview
A leading digital lending and specialty finance platform is looking to hire a Senior Portfolio Manager to oversee a diverse portfolio of asset-backed credit exposures. This role sits at the center of Risk Management, with responsibility for monitoring performance, managing counterparty relationships, and driving portfolio-level insights. You will play a key role in evaluating structured credit facilities backed by consumer and small business assets, ensuring ongoing alignment with risk and return objectives. The position will combine analytical rigor with stakeholder engagement, requiring close coordination with credit, risk, and structuring teams.
Responsibilities
- Oversee ongoing risk management and performance monitoring of asset-backed and specialty finance exposures, including reporting, covenant tracking, and variance analysis
- Lead post-close portfolio activities, including borrower engagement, amendments, waivers, and credit approvals in coordination with internal credit teams
- Conduct ongoing surveillance and diligence of counterparties, including regular reviews, field exams, and identification of emerging risks or industry trends
Qualifications
- 8 - 10 years of experience in asset-backed lending, securitization, or specialty finance portfolio management, with exposure to consumer and/or SMB assets
- Strong understanding of structured finance transactions, including borrowing base mechanics, cash flow waterfalls, and legal documentation
- Excellent analytical and communication skills, with proficiency in financial modeling and data visualization tools
