Linux Performance Engineer
I'm partnered with a leading proprietary trading firm in Amsterdam looking for a Linux Performance Engineer to join their infrastructure team.
Responsibilities
- Optimise bare-metal Linux systems
- Drive low-latency tuning (CPU pinning, NUMA, interrupts, memory, networking)
- Implement PTP/PPS time synchronisation across trading systems
- Work with kernel-bypass networking (DPDK, Onload, etc.)
- Build CI/CD pipelines and automate infrastructure deployments
- Develop latency-focused monitoring and observability
- Collaborate closely with trading and quant teams
This is you
- 4+ years in Linux / SRE / Performance Engineering (trading/HFT preferred)
- Strong Linux kernel and system-level knowledge
- Experience with low-latency networking frameworks
- Implement and maintain precision time synchronisation (PTP/PPS) across trading systems
- Scripting in Bash or Python
- Experience with CI/CD and automation tools
- Comfortable working with hardware-level optimisation
Bonus
- Experience working in the trading / financial services environment
- Docker / Kubernetes (non-critical workloads)
