Selby Jennings is partnered with a leading Global Investment Office to identify an Investment Principal for its Dallas‑based client portfolio management team. The firm acts as an outsourced CIO for endowments, foundations, families, and senior investment professionals, overseeing more than $75B in assets globally and constructing customized, multi‑asset class portfolios through partnerships with top‑tier asset managers.
Key Responsibilities
Client Portfolio Management
- Lead development and ongoing management of customized, multi‑asset class portfolios
- Define investment strategy using insights from centralized research and asset‑class specialists
- Manage portfolios within client‑specific constraints, including risk, liquidity, and spending needs
- Serve as the primary day‑to‑day investment contact for clients
- Lead portfolio reviews, performance discussions, and market updates
- Prepare and present materials for client and investment committee meetings
Business Development
- Support new client acquisition efforts, including pitches and RFPs
- Conduct high‑level analysis of prospective client portfolios
- Help develop proposed asset allocations and manager lineups
- Participate in client presentations and relationship‑building initiatives
- Contribute to local networking and brand‑building efforts in Texas
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in investing or professional services (e.g., asset management, investment consulting, endowment/family office, investment banking, or management consulting)
- Strong passion for investing and financial markets
- Experience with portfolio construction, manager evaluation, or multi‑asset investing preferred
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and communication skills
- Comfortable in a client‑facing, advisory role
- Proven experience mentoring and leading junior team members
- Undergraduate degree required; MBA, CFA, or CAIA a plus
