Investment Banking VP, M&A
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end execution of cross-border M&A transactions involving Chinese corporates and international counterparties
- Manage all aspects of deal delivery including financial modelling, valuation, due diligence, structuring, and negotiation
- Act as the key day-to-day contact for clients, advisors, and internal stakeholders throughout the transaction lifecycle
- Coordinate cross-functional teams (product, industry, legal, compliance) across multiple jurisdictions
- Prepare and review high-quality client materials including pitch books, information memoranda, and board presentations
- Provide strategic advice to clients on deal structuring, pricing, and market positioning
- Support senior bankers in origination efforts, leveraging China-related deal experience and market insights
- Mentor junior team members (Analysts/Associates) and oversee workstreams to ensure high-quality execution
Requirements
- 7-10+ years of experience in M&A investment banking, with strong exposure to cross-border transactions involving China
- Proven track record of leading execution on complex deals, ideally across multiple sectors
- Strong technical skills in financial modelling, valuation, and transaction structuring
- Deep understanding of China outbound/inbound investment dynamics, regulatory considerations, and market practices
- Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders and deliver under tight timelines
- Fluency in Mandarin and English required; Cantonese is advantageous
- Strong communication and client-facing capabilities with a commercial mindset
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or a related discipline; advanced qualifications are a plus
