Investment Banking M&A Associate
A leading independent investment bank is seeking an Investment Banking Associate to join its growing Mergers & Acquisitions team in New York. This is an opportunity to work on highly strategic sell-side, buy-side, and capital advisory transactions across a variety of industries while partnering closely with senior bankers and clients.
The team is looking for a driven investment banking professional with strong transaction execution experience, financial modeling expertise, and the ability to operate in a fast-paced, client-facing environment.
Responsibilities
- Execute live M&A transactions from initiation through closing.
- Build and maintain complex financial models, valuation analyses, and transaction materials.
- Prepare pitch books, management presentations, confidential information memoranda, and board materials.
- Conduct industry, company, and market research to support client engagements.
- Coordinate due diligence processes and manage communication with clients, counterparties, legal advisors, and other stakeholders.
- Work directly with senior bankers on strategic advisory assignments and transaction execution.
- Mentor and oversee analysts while helping manage day-to-day deal processes.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of investment banking experience.
- Current Investment Banking Associate or Senior Associate at a bulge bracket, elite boutique, middle market investment bank, or independent advisory firm.
- Strong M&A transaction execution experience.
- Advanced financial modeling and valuation skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proven ability to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines simultaneously.
- Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record.
