International Tax Manager

We are looking for an experienced International Tax Manager to join a growing regional tax function based in Singapore. This is a newly established position that will support a broad range of cross-border tax matters across the Asia Pacific region while partnering closely with both regional and global stakeholders.

The successful candidate will act as a key advisor on international tax matters, including permanent establishment, transfer pricing, indirect taxes, withholding taxes, and treaty interpretation. The role offers exposure to a diverse range of jurisdictions, business models, and strategic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess cross-border transactions, service arrangements, and operating structures to provide practical tax guidance across multiple APAC jurisdictions.
  • Analyse the application of double tax treaties and advise on treaty entitlement, anti-avoidance rules, and related international tax considerations.
  • Evaluate the interaction between local tax legislation and internationally recognised tax frameworks, identifying potential risks and implications.
  • Support regional stakeholders on tax matters arising from business operations across different jurisdictions.
  • Provide tax support for business growth initiatives, new market entry projects, and evolving operating models.
  • Monitor developments in global tax reform initiatives and assess potential impacts on regional operations.
  • Prepare clear technical analysis, position papers, and supporting documentation for complex tax issues.

Requirements

  • Strong technical knowledge of international taxation and Asia Pacific tax regimes.
  • Ability to interpret tax treaties, legislation, guidance, and technical materials, and apply them to commercial situations.
  • Demonstrated experience advising on permanent establishment and other cross-border tax matters.
  • Familiarity with transfer pricing, withholding tax, indirect taxes, and the tax treatment of international transactions.
  • Exposure to tax issues affecting multinational organisations, particularly those with complex regional operations.
