Index Analyst
We are currently partnered with a leading global alternative investment manager seeking an Index Analyst to join their investment team. This individual will play a key role in analyzing index rebalances, benchmark methodology changes, ETF flows, corporate actions, and other market structure events that create investment opportunities across global equity markets. Working closely with portfolio managers, researchers, and traders, the successful candidate will help identify and quantify index-related dislocations, develop analytical tools, and generate actionable insights that support investment decision-making.
Responsibilities:
* Monitor and analyze index rebalances, constituent changes, additions, deletions, and benchmark methodology updates.
* Evaluate the impact of index events, ETF flows, passive fund activity, and corporate actions on securities and market liquidity.
* Build and maintain datasets, models, and tools used to forecast index-related trading activity.
* Conduct quantitative and fundamental analysis surrounding passive investment trends and market structure developments.
* Partner with investment professionals to identify alpha opportunities driven by benchmark and index changes.
* Produce research, reporting, and event-driven analyses for portfolio managers and trading teams.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in a Stem subject
* 2+ years of experience in index research, equity research, portfolio analytics, ETF research, market structure, quantitative research, or a related investment function.
* Strong understanding of equity indices, ETFs, passive investing, benchmark construction, and corporate actions.
* Advanced Python knowledge
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Open to sell side and buy side candidates but must have index experience.
