Hedge Fund FTR Risk Manager
A leading global multi strategy hedge fund is seeking an experienced commodities risk manager to oversee FTR trading. This hire is crucial toward the success of a new FTR trading business at the established fund and will operate as a partner to their already well-established commodity trading business.
The commodities desk is the fastest growing revenue generating portion of this fund, and responsibilities will include:
- Establishment of an advanced risk framework for FTRs
- Strong understanding of FTR risk exposures and P&L
- Work with existing FTR PM on risk management and help to onboard new PM hires in FTRs
- Scale risk capabilities and develop new risk systems and develop code base/tools to be used in the risk library
- Work with non-commodities risk managers to elaborate on FTR specific risk exposures and implement risk strategies used in other asset classes
Necessary Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years in FTR and US Power trading
- Primary experience focused on FTRs specifically
- Physical power market knowledge (grid topology, congestion calculation methodologies)
- Python, SQL, Excel
- VaR and Stress Testing experience
Secondary Experience:
- Risk framework development for physical trading
- Other commodities market knowledge (oil + gas, softs/ags, etc.)
- Power systems
