Head of Audit (m/w/d)
About the Role: Our client are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our bank as the Head of Audit. This is a unique opportunity to lead and manage the internal audit function. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve the bank's operations. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Audit Planning and Execution: Develop and implement a comprehensive audit plan to evaluate the effectiveness of risk management, control, and governance processes.
- Risk Assessment: Identify and assess areas of significant business risk, and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies, and provide recommendations for improvements.
- Reporting: Prepare detailed audit reports with findings, conclusions, and recommendations, and present them to senior management and the audit committee.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with industry best practices and regulatory changes to continuously improve the audit process.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including senior management and external auditors.
- Advisory Role: Provide insights and advice on risk management and internal controls to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CIA, CPA, CISA) is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience in internal audit, preferably within the banking or financial services industry.
- Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of auditing standards, regulatory requirements, and risk management practices.
- Language: Proficiency in English and German.
